Made for Greatness Marriage Retreat: November 15-17, 2024 - Maryvale

In the immediate wake of the Pope St. Paul VI's landmark document Humanae Vitae, which reaffirmed the Church's timeless teaching on the intimate link between marriage and sexuality, the future Pope St. John Paul II launched an initiative of Married Couple Groups.  He gathered married couples around him to lead them deeper into the gift of what he referred to as conjugal spirituality.  

Conjugal spirituality is the relationship between God and the spouses, united as one. This new relationship is formed through the Sacrament of Marriage. This real spiritual union can be so profound, John Paul II says, that the spouses have but one interior life! Conjugal spirituality is also the key to finding unshakable joy and peace in your marriage.

To assist couples in this John Paul even wrote a Rule for married couples detailing the means of growing in this conjugal spirituality.  However, at the time the couples he worked with saw a book as unnecessary when they had the author right there with them.  So, John Paul's Rule saw overlooked and forgotten among his belongings until decades later during the investigations involved in his canonization process.  Then this long lost gem was rediscovered but remained largely unknown.  

Only recently translated into English, St. John Paul's Rule provides a key for couples to become great in holiness! As a husband and wife open their hearts more to the grace of the sacrament, they become closer to God and to each other, and this produces lasting joy!

In this Made for Greatness Married Couples Retreat, translators of the text Peter and Theresa Martin will lead married couples through St. John Paul II's profound insights into the essence of marital love and unity.  

Cost of the the retreat is $475 per couple.  All couples will receive a copy of The Rule: St. John Paul II's Rule for a Joy-Filled Marriage and Divine Love by Theresa and Peter Martin.
